Greetings and welcome to the growing world of my artwork.
I've been creating art since I was about 8 years old. I started by custom painting model cars in the 1960's. Then bargained with my mom to buy a Mad Magazine every month if I'd do every chore she wants, no questions asked. I'd redraw every page by the end of the month, mostly in pen and ink. Years later, I advanced to reproducing Frank Frazetta artwork (Conan). This was a major step in the advanced skills needed, especially oil painting.
However, I became an adult and needed to get to working which in the 70's was unavailable. So, I joined the Army. Enlisted into the Airborne Rangers, had a blast training and travelling. Later was transferred to nuke site security in Turkey. Artwork had become an occasional hobby at best. Years after a career at UPS and owning a sports bar, I've finally retired and can create artwork all day everyday if I wish...and I do!
I'm attracted to the movement and light of this planet...sunsets over water, mountain ranges, trees and our American flag (of course). All in brilliant colors, with lights and darks creating amazing depth. I'm attracted to heavy paint texture. I feel it adds yet another level of depth.
Painting and drawing 4-8 hours per day has allowed my skills to skyrocket. I improve with every painting that I complete, knowing the next one will be even better. Still not feeling a limit, I just try to let my creative mind release.
Currently, I'm doing commissions and art shows in the Northeast US. I sell regularly and business is really growing. I try to keep my art pricing reasonable, so it hangs on your walls, not mine. ENJOY!!
There is nothing more inspiring to me than seeing a collection of the old master artists live.
I grew up like most with pencil drawing. Then moved on the pen & ink and finally oil painting. I prefer realism with a twist of impressionism. My work shows extreme use of light and brilliant colors, and my oil paintings will generally have heavy texture that helps add to the depth, like you can step into the painting.
I spend most of my summers selling in the Northeast art shows in the resort towns. Then through the winters I'm painting by commission or building inventory for the shows.
